HOSPITAL TENDERS.
[to the Editor.] Sir—l observed by your report of the proceedings of the Hospital Committee that you told the public the price at which bread, meat, «fec., was supplied to the Hospital j but you forgot to tell the public the price accepted for funerals. J, being a tenderer, am very anxious to know, as my lender for adults was £6 10s, and pay out of that 30s for digging a grave, ,£1 for conveyance, and furnish a coffin. lam very curious to know by what manipulation any man could do it less than by the price tendered by me. But all I want to know from you, Mr Editor, is the real price accepted by the Committee for the work ; and I and the public have a right to know it. A Tenderer. Kumara, Bth Jan., 1880. [The successful tenderer’s contract for funerals was £3 17s 6d.— Ed. K. T.]
