[NEW ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.] LATEST EUROPEAN NEWS. London, June 5. Disastrous floods have occonrred in Russia and Ittly. The river Moskwa was unprecedentedly high, and bridges, embankments, and houses were carried away. A large portion of Moscow is submerged. The Tiber overflowed, doing enormous damage. An extensive strike has taken place at Pictsbuig ironworks. Thirty thousand men are indentitied with the movement, and serious labor riots are apprehended. CaIHo, June 4. The Khedive has returned an-evasive answer to the protest of the German Government against the dismissal of his ministers. The German ConsulGeneral, in reply, regretted deeply that the Egyptian questions was entering a new phase, involving serious consequences. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, June 5. The Australian and European Bank liabilites are estimated at £400,000 whilst the probable assets are expected to reach £600,000. June 6. A meeting of the Associated Banks, held last night, it was resolved to support the City of Melbourne Bauk with any assistance they may require. ' t Sydney, June 6.
