Sydney, April 22. The Nineveh left London on the 10th with 500 immigrants for Sydney. At Wentworth a melancoly and fatal accident occured in the drowning of John Sharp, the best swimmer in the neighbourhood. The deceased swam on horseback at the Ana, a branch of the Mil nay, for a swan, bat his horse becoming entangled in weeds threw him. His friends who he told 6ve minutes before drowning' that he was all right, were unable to assist him, and getting the swan and resting on it for half anhour, he sank. During the floods of 1870, dece.-.sed carried the mails fortyfive miles per day, frequently having to •swim hi d horse miles through flooded country, and it was not an uncommon occurence for him on his horse drowning, to take the mails and swim ashore. He was theu thirteen years of age.
