For the first five'years the course (four miles) was from Westminster to Putney ; and subsequently the course has been from Putney to Mortlake, with the exception that in 1846, 1858, and 1863 the course was reversed—Mortlake to Putney. It will he observed that it has been run for consecutive years Only sinde 1856.
