Timaru, April 1. Arthur Goodwyn, a baker who recently became insolvent is to be prosecuted for fraudulent bankruptcy on several counts.

Operations on the breakwater are now in full swing, and another 20ft will be completed by to-morrow. A lower layer of blocks, averaging 25 tons is first put down, and these are capped by one huge solid block built over them. It is believed this arrangement will greatly increase the stability of the work.

Hutchinson, late Mayor with a purse of sovereigns and a handaomly bound illuminated address. The Customs revenue for Wellington for the month of March is £20,036 11s 6d ; corresponding month last year, £ls, 578 9s.
