LATEST UNPUBLISHED. [PKESS AGENCY.] Grahamstown, March 20. A fire broke out shortly before nine o'clock this morning in the heart of Grahamstown. Smoke was observed issuing from the roof of Butler's Commercial Hotel, Crown street, as the inmates were at breakfast. The ahvni was given, and the bedrooms were found to be ablaze ; but the Brigades soon got to work, and with a very copious supply of water from the county main, through nine pipes, an effect was speedily produced which allayed the fears for the safety of the adjoining properties, and the fire was got under, although not before the whole of the upper portion of the hotel had been destroyed. There was an insurance of £6OO on the building, in the Imperial, All the furniture, billiard table, &c, were also insured ; and £SOO of insurance covers a mortgage held by Brofun and Campbell, of Auckland. Wellington, Match 19. Shortly after the ship Hermione came into port, Capt. Robinson placed one of his crew, who was very ill, in the Hospital. The seaman not having recovered during the vessel's stay, the captain warns to leave the man still in the Hospital; but to this objections have been raised on the ground that the man is only a burden ou the country. As the captain refuses to provide for the man in any other way, an inquiry will shortly be held into the circumstances of the case. Christchurch, March 19. A cricket match between a Christchurch team and a team of Christchurch headed by Lord Harris, will be played on Saturday. Auckland, March 19. The commencement of the reclamation for the Queen-street Railway Station is delayed by the claims of leaseholders.
