Gretmouth Jockey Club Handicap, of 100 sovs, with acceptances added ; 2 miles ; nominations, 2 sovs ; acceptances, 4 sovs. Nominations enclosing 2 sovs received up to Wednesday, 12th February, at 11 o’clock p.m. Handicap declared Monday, 17th February, at 8 p.m. ; and acceptances received up to 11 p.m. night of general entry. Second horse to receive 15 sovs from the stake. Hack Race, of 10 sovs ; 1| miles ; entrance, 1 sov ; post entries ; minimum weight, 9st. Railway Stakes Handicap, of 30 sovs ; 1| miles ; nominations, 30s, received on night of general entry up to 8 p.m. Weights to be declared and acceptances with 30s received immediately after the finish of Jockey Club Handicap. SECOND DAY—MARCH 19. Goldfields Handicap, of 75 sovs ; 1| miles ; nominations, with 2 sovs, received Up to 8 o’clock night of general entry ; declaration of weights to be made night of 17th March, at 8 o’clock, and acceptances, with 3 sovs, received up to 11 o’clock same evening ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake. Hack Race Handicap, of 10 sovs; H miles ; entrance, 1 sov ; post entries. Grey Valley Stakes Handicap, of 30 sovs ; H miles ; nominations, 30s ; I acceptances, 30s ; nominations, with 30s, received up to 8 p.m. on night of 17th March ; weights to be declared, and acceptance, with 30s, received on course immediately after finish of Gold-fields Handicap. Handicap Hurdle Race, of 25 sovs ; miles ; entrance, 1 sov ; acceptances, 1 sov ; nominations received, and weights declared, up to 8 p.m. on night of 17th March. Novel Race, of 20 sovs ; 2 miles ; nominations, 2 sovs ; the winner to be sold by auction, and the whole proceeds of the sale of the horse to go to the funds of the Jockey Club. Weight for age : post entries. Consolation Stakes, of 15 sovs ; 1 mile ; entrance, 1 sov ; post entries RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. Night of General Entry, Saturday, 15th March, 1879 2. All nominations and acceptances must be made in. writing and sent in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, Albion Hotel, Greyraouth, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, description and age of horse, snd colors to be worn by the jockey 3. All stakes paid less 5 per cent. Three horses mnst start for each race, or the public money will be witheld ; the Races Will be run under the Greymouth Jockey Club Rules •; 4. No entery will be received unless upon the distinct understanding that the decision of the Stewards or whoever they may appoint shall in all cases be final, and all law proceedings barred. 5. All entries for the Hack Race are to be made subject to the approval of the Stewards. 6. All horses must be ridden in colors 7. In the event of any person entering a protest, the sum of £2 2s must be lodged with .the secretary before such protest is considered ; this sum to be forfited should the Stewarts consider the protest frivilous or vexatious 8. All parties entering a horse 1 must pay the sum of £2 2s to the Race Fund in order to qualify themselves, entries for the Novel and Hack Races only being ex--scepted W' 9.
