EDUCATION RESERVE.

In accordance with a resolution passed at a pul die meeting held relative to .the Reserve on Tuesday evening, His Worship the Mayor transmitted a copy of the resolution then passed asking the Government to “ stay all action in the matter of the Reserve until a full stetemeutof particular’s was forwarded them by the Committee here ” to the Minister for Crown Lands and Education. The following reply in regard thereto was received last evening: To His Worship the Mayor, JKumara. Have submitted your telegram to the Acting Minister of Lands. The Kumara Education Reserve lias been appointed, and by Section 10, “ Education Reserves Act, 1877,” it rests in the School Commissioners, Government having no. control over it. H. J. H. Elliott.
