We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucylyptu§ oil found in the trade instead of our Epclyptus Extract. £?q %as the committing of imposition against the public jn such a case is concerned, the consequences would not he serious j but as the qualities of both of thp products Ore in many’cases directly opposed to one another, v/e consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the fob Jgwing facts The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect ppon the skin. Any blistering brought on by tlm application of a medicament must increase incarnation, and it is therefore evident that in cases qf wounds, cold§, bronchitis, dipthqria, croup, sprains &c., the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper, An application pf the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased.

The truth of our assertion is founded Upon the fact that the oil is a resinous {iroduct equivalent to common turpenine, its market vaiup be|ug about three shillings one pound weight j our extract consists fif the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty T four shillings for one pound i v eight.
