The Warden may, if lie think fit, grant a prospecting claim, to the actual discoverer of new gold workings conjointly with persons who. have assisted them in pyospecting either, with eontrh bntions or otherwise, or with other persons who may be nominated by th ; e actual although the saicl persons may not haye been on the gyound prior to the granting thereof. The Warden may, upon the’application of any persons forming a party of not jess than four, grant protection for not more than thyee months for q pyospecting area at a distance of pot les,s than two miles from any existing workings in alluvial ground, or pi the case of quartz workings () f not loss than half q ihile from any existing quartz workings: Provided in no case‘shall any such pyospecting area be granted within half a 'mile of any oilier such prospycting area.
