The Tunnel has been driVeh 2018 feet, and a shaft sunk, .95, feet, in connection therewith, and it is contemplated to extend the Tunnel about TOO feet further,- which, when completed, will at what is now known to be. the best sluicing .gro.und in the district: " ' V- v The promoters are' so sanguine of the undertaking proving., a success, that they are willing to accept 600 paid-bp shares in the new Company in fulli payment for the purchase of their Tights for all labour already done and l,expenses incurred. The boxes will be constructed to cany 30 government heads of water, thereby enabling a large number f of claims to sluice into it at a small rental, which would otherwise entail a great aniount of labour and expense in bringing in private tunnels such a distance, viz., 2700 feet. ‘ 1
