THE AVENGERS.
A London paper, speaking of the strong anti-Russian feeling in Armenia, says:—"A secret society has been formed called the Intikamijilav—'The Avengers.' It has been organised in Ersingian. The object of this society is the extermination of the Unsown-* l>v assassination, and tliey seem to lnvt* begun their operations on a considerable
scale. Two officers have been murdered at Erzerouni. They were found swimming in their blood close 6y Fort Azizieh. Two days later another officer of the Kubian regiment, and on May 14th two more, where shot at and dangerously wounded. On the 15th, Colonel Bycloi was huit, and another officer mortally wounded on the following day. The Avengers are thus in a fair way to become as notorious and terrifying a? the Assassins in the time of the Orasaders, espocially as they inend to extend the sphere of their operations to Europe."
