In consequence of the pressure on our space through advertising matter, and the election meetings, we aro compelled to hold over several locals of public interest. A miner named Lind, of Lenords and party's claim, Dillman Town, was brought down to the Hospital this afternoon with his left leg smashed. We understand that Mr Price the Licensing officer will hold his annual Licensing Court next Thursday, at 2 p.m., this hour being fixed so as to suit the usual weekly sittings of the Wardens and Resident Magistrate's Courts. Mr Crombie-Brown has been advised, in consequence of the inclemency of the weather and the excitement in connection with the fortheomng election, to postpone the delivery of his lecture. As the proceeds are to be devoted to the Hospital, it is perhaps just as well that a more favourable opportunity should be waited for.

A crowded meeting assembled at the Theatre Royal, on Saturday evening, to hear Mr S. T. George's address. A unanimous vote in favor of the candidate as representative of this district was carried, a full report of which we give elsewhere.

Mr Fitz Gerald addressed the electors at Goldsborough on Saturday evening, and there was a largo attendance. Mr Moran occupied the chair, and a unanimous vote of confidence was passed for the candidate on the motion of Mr Walsh, seconded bv MrM.Houlahan.

Messrs M. Griffiths, and W. H. Sandle were nominated on Saturday for the vacant seat in the County Council. The poll will take place on Tuesday, the 2nd proximo. The polling places appear in our advertising columns. At the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning before C. Barff, Esq., J. P., an inebriate was fined 10s and costs, or the usual alternative.

D. Davidson and Co., in order to meet the requirements of the public of Kumara and surrounding districts, have come to the determination of still further reducing the prices of their present large stock of general drapery, clothing, boots and shoes. All goods are marked in plain figures, and sold for cash. That the public may not be deceived, an early call is solicited to inspect the goods and prices.—[Advt.] For miraculous cures by the use of Eucalypti Extract, read fourth page.— [Advt.]
