Nelson (via Bluff;, is a total wreck at Le Wais Point, east head of Bluff. The crew are reported to be safe in the forward part of the ship, which is out of water. The walking match between Bowley and Pentecost, a distance of 50 miles, for £SO a side, came off on Saturday.' Petecost received a start ofhalf-an-hnur, in which he covered nearly three miles. Bowley, walking splendidly, caught Pentecost just before finishing the 38th mile. Bowley covered 40 miles in 7 hours 55 minutes. Pentecost was then several laps behind, and retired, at the 40th mile, completely knocked up.
