Fifteen thousand people assembled, and as a sectarian riot was feared a hundred police were present. The military are ready to be called out. The passengers bylthe Orient steamer Chimborazo were brought safely to Sydney. Twenty feet of the keel are gone, but it is believed that the steamer can be readily brought on to Sydney for repairs.
