A numerously-signed pettion was forwarded fiom Nelson some time a<*o to the Governor praying for mitigation of the sentence of Captain' Davis, of the Queen Bee, whose certificate was suspended for three years. The Governor transmitted it to the Board of Trade, and news was received by the San Francisco mail that they reduced the term of suspension to one year, granting Captain Davis a mate's certificate in the meantime.
