Christchurch, February 23. A Telephone concert on rather an elaborate scale comes off this evening. In consequence of opposition by steamers, the Government have lowered the railway tariff on wool and grain between Tiniavu and Lyttelton. A further reduction will take place shortly. Ihe " Sun " newspaper has been disposed of by action for ,£3IOO. It was bought in for the directors. There is a mortgage of £3OOO on it.
