A despatch from Osman Pasha, dated 31st, states*that he made a reconnaissance of the Russian position east of Plevna, and attacked and routed the enemy (30,000 strong) after severe fighting, and carried three redoubts by assault. Colonel Baker greatly distinguished himself on the 30th.
