KUMARA MAILS.
A public meeting, convened by hia Worship the Mayor, was held at Anchors Hotel on Saturday night, to consider the desirability of increasing the postal facilities in Kumata. The meeting unanimously agreed to the following resolutions
Moved by Mr Anchor, seconded by Mr Martin, “ Tliat in the opinion of this meeting it is highly desirable that an evening and morning mail service should be established at Kumara ; that the same might be established at a nominal cost to the postal authorities, and at the same time would be a great boon to the town, as correspondents could send letters to' Hokitika in the evening and have answers by telegram or return post in the morn’ng ; also that as soon as the Post, Office has been opened in the new building, a letter d-lhery, twice a day, should be established.” ' t '
Moved by Mr Georgeaon, seconded by D». Keiran .** That a copy of the fore-going resolution ite forwarded )>y his Worship the Mayor to the Postmaster also to the Postmaster at Hokitika.”
