Thursday, August 16. (Before M. Price, Esq., R.M.) James Hansen, for being drunk and disorderly, was fined 10s, John Brauer for keeping his licensed premises open after hours, was fined 403., with costs. John Pearn, for a similar offence, was fined £5 with costs. WHliam Goldie pleaded not puilty to a charge of false pretences. Mr John O'Brien, of the Brian Born Hotel, proved the offence. His worship asked under what Act the information had been brought ; Mr Inspector O'Donnell sa'd—the Vagrant Act. His worship ruled that the charge should have beeu brought under the Larceny Act. Case dismissed. CIVIL CASES. Bank of New Zealand v. Wylde.—This was a claim for balance of account, with interest, i 57 5s 2d. Mr Wylde gave evidence in support of his plea of "not indebted." Houlahan and Co. v. Grey,—Claim, goods and cash, £l9 I<K Mr Perkins appeared for the plaintiff*. Defendant, did not appear. Verdict for plaintiff, with costs of Conr-ji, and--professional costs. Foley v. Jauho'ey and Long.—Claim, goods, £i 16i 101. Mr Perkins appeared' tor LcHig. Jauncey admitted the debt,

Long denied it. The verdict was for plaintiff against Jauncey, with costs and professional costs. Stewart v.. Kelly.—Claim of £2. For plaintiff, with costs. Estate of Jacobs v. Johnson. —Claim, goods, £2 14s. Mr Hawkins for plaintiff. Verdict for plaintiff, with costs and professional costs. Estate of Jacobs v. George Jacobs.— Claim, goods £1 7s; lOd. Mr Hawkins for plaintiff. Verdict for plaintiff with i costs and professional costs.
