Sydney, April 10. The Exhibition was opened at noon by the Governor. The members of the Government, Corporation, leading citizens, and a large concourse of people were present. Owing to the stock show being deferred till the 17 th the extensive machinery exhibits, being in such unpreparedness, presented an unfinished appearance outside. The Canadian and American Courts are not yet ready, but the main building is in order, and presented an interesting spectacle. The pastoral, mining, and agricultural industries were well represented. The fine are floor and sections, representing manufacturing industries, were well filled.
W. H, Watt, of Wanganui, ia highly commended for his wool exhibits; two other exhibits of wool in different classes by the same exhibitor, are also highly commended. London, April 8. A Cabinet Council was held at Stamboul on Saturday and Sunday, to consider an invitation of the Premier’s, in reference to the protocol. Their decision is awaited with uneasiness. It is rurnored that the Porte has resolved to negotiate with Russia.
