NEW ZEALAND LOAN as MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.’S REPORT. We held our usual fortnightly sale at Obaupo on Tuesday last, when we yarded 520 bead of cattle and 1200 sheep. Thare was not much demand for cattle aud s number of pens failed tc reach reserves. All sheep sold at good prices:—2-yr old steers made from £8 10s to £4 ; 20-mos. to 2 yrold steers, £2 13s to £3 8s; 18 mos fat and forward steers, £2 5s to £2 10 s; heiiers, £2 ; calves. £1 to £1 9s; cows. £2 1,5 s tc £4 ss; store Cows, £2; 4 tooth ewes, been with rams, 13s 9d ; 2 tooth ewe?, 12s lid ; 4 tooth wethers, 12s lid; 2-tooth wethers, 21s Id.
At Te Kuiti on Wednesday we penned 950 hevd of cattle of good quality and cond’tion and 2700 sbaep. There was a large atitendaoce of settlers from all parts of the King Country aud the Waikato ; aud although prices ruling were a trifle low, sellers were inclined to accept, and nearly every line changed hands. Prices : 8| yr-old steers, made £4 13s to £5 8s; 2 to 3-yr-old steers, £3 12g to £4 5s ; 20 mus to 2 yr-old steers, £2 10s to £3 ; 18-mos do., £8 2* to £2 6? : 20 luos heifers, £1 5s to £2 ; forward and fat heifers, £2 5s to .03 15s ; fat cows, £3 14s to £4 #3 ; snore cows, £2 to £2 15s ; cows and calves, £2 10s to £3 ; calves, 18s to 21<.l Sheep : 4 tooth ewes, 12s 10a ; 2-tooth do., Ils 3d : wethers, 9s 2d to Ils ; full-mouth ewes, 7s 81 to ; full-mouth fatewes, Ils 31; shorn Limbs, 6s 4d ; sma*’ wooHy lambs, 5s Id.
