The two eldest sons of Mr Terry, of Oparau, who recently left Kawhia io search of land, have succeeded in drawing sec'ions near Rotorua. Mrs Jonathan, who has been seriously of late, left for tbe Waikato on Monday morning. The ladies’ many friends wish her a speedy recovery. Mr M. Forsyth. Government Bridge Inspector, paid a visit to the work in connection with the Waiharakeke bridge on Wednesday, being well satisfied with the progress made. The Rev D. B. Ashford, accompanied by Mrs Ashford, has gone to attend the Congregational Church Conference at Cbristchurcb, ihe journey being made via tbe Main Trunk Line.

Miss Georgie .Langley, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. E. Langley, who bag been in indifferent health for some time past, has gone to Auckland, her parents hoping that the change will be beneficial.

The marriage took place at Kawhia on Friday of Mr Percy Moke and Miss Kiti Te Uira. There was a very large gathering present, both tbe young people being very popular with Marois and Pakehas alike.

Mr H. Green, of Kinobaku, was taken suddenly ill on Saturday, Dr C. Campbell Jenkins being sent for. Tbe doctor pronounced the complaint as appendicitis, and ordered Mr Green’s removal to tbe hospital. Tbe patient was taken away by the e.g. Claymore on Tuesday. A telegram received on Thursday states that Mr Green had been operated on and was progressing favourably.
