At Ohaupo oa Tuesday last we yarded 1202 head of eattle, all well bred in good condition. For all classes there was a good enquiry, and practically the whole yarding wft« disposed of at auction, a few pens of yearlings and 18-mos. steers only being passed forward. Conditioned bullocks, £5 15a to £6 Ids ; same age steers not «o forward, £5 to £5 I Os’ well-bred 24 to 3 yr-old steers, £4 9a to £4 17k 6d; 80 backward store and rather rough 4-yr-old steers made from £4 4s to £5 5s ; very choice 2-yr-old steers, £6 15s to £3 7s (id ; fat and forward cows, £3 15e to £5 ; store cows, L2 10s to £3 ; 2-yr-old heifers (Assets Board breeding) made L2 14s to L2 16s; yearling steers, 1/2 2s to L2 8s ; yearling and 15-mos. heifers, 30s to LI os ; for extra goad bulls, from LI 4s to LB 8s ; springing heifers, L 3 10a to L 8 16s.
At Matamata on Wednesday last we offered 735 head of cattle, besides sheep, pigs and horses. There was a fair enquiry and nearly all stock were sold, but sale was nothing like as brisk as the previous day’s Ohaupo sale, Choice 8-yr old dairy heifers, L'3 to L 3 Ha ; 2-yr old steers, L 3 13s to L 4 ss; fat cows, L 5 to L 5 10s ; store oowa, L2 10a to L 8 ; yearling steers. L2 2s 6d to L2 Da ; mixed yearlings, LI 15s to L2 ; smaller sorts, 26a 6d to 3(fe; yearling build from Sijgns to lOgns; forward woolly wothers, IBs; woolly hoggets, Us lid; shorn ewes with lambs, Us yd; cull woolly hoggets, 8s 2d
