Chase and F. Derecourt were the respective captains. Good batting form was shewn for Kinohaku by ihe Derecourt- Brothers, Neely and Fairfax. Tbe last named is a vary difficult ruau get-r»4-W. As usual, Harper aud F. Do re co ar I were deadly with the ball.. Chase, Higgins and Jonathan batted best for Kawhia. At tbe coDclasion of the match tbe teams and a number of residents were the guests of Mr nod Mrs Cheee at dinner, which was served in Scott’e Hall, which was decorated for tbe occasion. The tables were beautifully arranged and were laden with a bounteous eapply of choice ediblee. After fall justice had been done to the repast Mr F. Derecourt, on bsltatf of tho Kinohauu team, suitably thanked tbo ho«t and hostess for their hospitality, to which Mr Chase briefly replied. Tbe hall was then cleared for a dance (in aid of the Cottage Hoepital Fund), which was attended by about 30 couples. Mrs Cha so supplied the masic, Mr M'Carthy being M.Ci. -Mrs Chase also kindly provided, sapper, which was handed round oaring tbo eyening.
