(VRUM OUB OWN OORRSBPONDENT.) The weather is boisterous, with cold winds and slight showers. Mr Harry Wade has gravelled the worst portion of our road which will soon be passable. A meeting of the Ratepayers’ Association was held on tbe 7th inst., when Mr Mackenzie was elected chairman aDd Mr H. Schreiber secretary. Au Oparau settler was lately offered £8 an acre (cash) for his farm, but did not sail. He is now asking £l2. Dairying is responsible for tbe rise. This is a slap to the pessimists.
