Kiritehere-Marokopa Mail.

With reference to the criticism which appeared in last week’s “Chronicle" regarding the manner in which the Kiritebere and Marokopa mails are delivered, we are informed that when the service was instituted it was arranged that for publicoonvsnienee the mail carrier should deliver letters to the settlers along the road which be traversed. The Chief Postmaster evidently interpreted the arrangement to mean that the letter bags should bo unshed, and this course is adopted under his instructions. The settlers are now moving in tbe matter of having another Post-office established in the district at Glengregg, and a requisition to that effect is being circulated. With the establishment of a new office tbe postal requirements of the district would be met for the present, and the necessity for unsealed bags would be obviated. It is to be hoped no obstacle will be found to the instituting of the new office as our baokblock settlers are deserving of every consideration at the hands of various Departments, and as the cost of administration will not bo increased there is every inducement for the Department to consider tbe matter favourably,—Te Haiti Chronicle.
