KAWHIA HARBOUR RAILWAY. SUBVKY PROMISED. (Special to the Settler ) Wellington, Thursday, A petition, signed by ninety settlers residing between Awakino and Kiuo haku districts, bee been presented to the House by Mr Jennings. The petitioners ask for the completion of tbe Mangsnui road for dray traffic, from Awakino io Marokopa. When the Auckland Railway League interviewed the Minister on Monday tbe Hon. W. W. M*Cardie, M.L.C., put in a claim for Kawhia Line, and was supported by Mr Jjnn ings, who apologised for the absence of Mr Greenslade—The Mi ais ter said he would have a trial survey made as soon as possible. In the discussion on tbe Agricultural estimates Mr Jennings asked, sreiHz the great increase of rabbits io a portion of South Auckland, settlers be supplied with wireproof netting at cost price, wbiob was done by Victorian Government.
