(from oub own correspondent.) We are having beautiful weather, and the roads are drying fast. Tbe frost is stopping tbe growth of tbe grass. Mr H. Armstrong recently added some new machinery to his sawmill here. The road between Oparau and <be ferry is not repaired yet. Where are the thirds P Ploughing for crop is going on, a larger ?rea beiu? cultivated each year. Two Chinamen have started a garden neir Oparau. Celestial? know where the land is good, and will show our pessimistic “ Boiled Mutton Bill ” that cod mines mostly are underground, and also that all wealth ia not suspended in mid air, but wnu*? cp initio outback toilers to produvj it. The three acres taken f>r a launch landing at the Ferry is too large and is a waste of public money, quarterof an-scre would have be- - nffioimt.
