The Premier’s Visit.
A meeting was held in Scott's Hall, Kawhia, on Tuesday night last to discuss the best way of entertaining the Premier during bis stay in Kawhia, Or Jonathan presided, a fair number being present. After discussion Messrs Chase, Bathe and Dr Jenkins were appointed to confer with the members of the County Council and Town Board, on Saturday night, at B p.m. over the walter. A resolution Was carried to the effect that the meeting would like to sei some action taken relative to the erection of a Cottage Hospital, and tbe matter brought under the notice of the Premier by the F>evd. O. E. Davidson, Dr 0. 0. Jenkins and Mr G. H. Chase.
On Wednesday last the Clerk of the Kawhia County Council received the following telegram . “In reply to your letter some little time back, covering cordial invitation to visit your district, lam arranging to reach Te Awamutu on tbe morning of the 18th inst and will leave there at noon direct for Kawhia. I should reach Kawhia about five o’clock, and I will be glad to fall in with any arrangements your Council and tbe residents desire to make for me during my stay. lam sorry I cannot stay over the evening as I require to be in Wellington the following night. I will therefore leave by the Northern Co.’s steamer, which is due to sail at midnight on the T hursday direct for Waiters.—J. G.'Wabd.”
