KAWHIA TOWN BOARD.

•r- (tv the editor.) Bir,—-A few weeks ago there was an agitation f started to abolish the Town Board, but since the appearance of a couple of letters in your columns the movement seem» to have died a Datura! death. I wonder why? Is it on account of tbe fact that those interested could Dot agree to Mr Jonathans suggestion that tbe matter be / discussed at a public meeting ? I fear so. However, it is a pity to let the eubject drop there, a& I know several residents who fail to see that tbe Town Board has justified its existence, and if a meeting was called there is no doubt that good, either one way or the other, would result, I would suggest that the anti-Town Boarders face tbe music, call a meeting ane then discuss whether or not it would be advisable to allow tbe Board to lapse.—Yours, eko -.ZL» t.'u L RATEPAYER.
