The Taumaranui Electorate.
The new Raetihi paper says The Creation of Taumaraoui ae a new elect totate will nooe-sitato tba appoinimsnof a Registrar of Electors and BaturaIng Officer. Although the general elections are some ten months off, it is time that a move was being made to secure suitable gentlemen for the respective positions. On the point ot to cation there can be no two opinions. The claims ot Baetihi are undispatable. Tha township is ountrolly situated, and the bulk of the electors are easily getassblejfrotn this centre, It Waimarino's Progressiva Association were to make ; a representation to the proper quarters we have little doubt that the appoint meat would be made in due coarse. Ia « Utile over four months s start will ba made with the compilation of tbe main roll, and candidates will be entering the field. To have the itogitlrav located at Waitara or . Taumaranui would prove very inconvenient to electors resident in this portion ot the Eleci torate. There are several gentlemen i resident ia Bteiibi eligable for either of tbe cfficM. We feel sure that tba : members for Bangitikei and Egmont would heartily support any reeommsadaiion that the Raetihi and Ohakuae Progressive Autaialioas might make i io ths Colonial Secretary.
