CRICKET. There were only five present at the annual meeting of the Kawhia Cricket Cinbdn Mr F&lwasser’s office on Tuesday evening last, Mr Pettit being in the chair. It was decided to re form the club, Mr E. Fal wasser being ce-slecced secretary and treasurer. 4 challenge was ree.d from the Kino hiiku Club to play a match at Kawhia on Satnrdayj December Htb, which was accepted. The Kinohaku Club wrote suggest* ing that a union be formed.—lt was decided to hold a meeting to discuss the matter on Saturday evening, the l lrh ins:., and to ask the Oparau and Awaroa Clubs to be represented. TENNIS. Ou Wednesday last on the courts of th 3 Kawhia Harbour Lawn Tennis Club there was a very large muster of, players and onlookers,. the weather being glorious. The reason of the large attendance was that on that day a ru.rioh Was played between teams chosen by Me’srs Jonathan and Pettit. A't r 18 games it was found ibac each side bud nine wins, but nn the aggregates being counted it was found that Me players were succaasful by nine points, the totals being 52:7 to 518. Mrs Roberts provided afternoon tea. The following are the results of the games played, (J) representing Mr Jonathan’s side and (P) Mr Pettit's: Miss Thompson and Mr Falwasser (J) beat Mrs Newton and Mr M'Carthy (F) 40 —3ti.

Mrs Newton (P) beatMiea Thompeon (J), 30—27. Mrs M‘Carthy and Mr Pettit (P) beat Mia» Stevens and Mr Jonathan (J), 40—81.
Miss Hamilton and Mr Jourdain (J) beat Mrs Jourdain and Mr Newton (Pj, 40—27. Mr Jourdain (J) beat Mr Nawton (P), 30—17. „ ./ Mrs Jourdain (P) beat Miss Hamilton .J)„ 30—2-4 Mr Aubin (J) beat Mr Newton, (P) 30-22. lira M'Cardle and Miss Hamilton (J) beat Mesdamea Falwaaser and Jourdain (P)> 40 —33. Mesaas Aubin and Jourdain £J"j beat Messrs Newton sr. and jr. [P], 40 - 18. Wise Langley [JI beat Mrs Barron [P j, 30-16. Messrs Tucvey and Aubin [ J I beat Messrs A. Jonathan and Newton, jr.» [P], 40—32. Mrs M’Cardle [J] beat Mrs Falwasser [PJ, 30—15. Mr A. Jonathan P] beat Mr Purvey [J], 30—22. The Oparau Court was opened for the season this (Friday) afternoon, when there was a good attendance of players and friends.
