OPARAU STRETS.
(to the editor.) Sir,—Any casual observer can no - tice iu daylight an agly attempt at a culvert, which is a disgrace to those who a responsible. Several people hare got hart by imagining that the main street of such an important place as Oparau would be free from open pit traps. Who runs this place any how ? Is it the County Council or the Government ? I suppose the Cjancil does. The Government of course is only too glad to throw away the expease and responsibility ofraaning this show, and the County Council now it is a governing loud body must see that our roads are not merely traps to eripple those who travel on them. We, the residents of Oparau and suburbs, trust the County Council will remedy this evil spot before some horse, vehicle, or haman being gut badly hurt, aud then make tho Council pay damages usual in such case?.—Yours, etc., OPARAU RESIDENTS.
