NSW ZEALAND LOAN & MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.’S REPORT. On Wednesday and Thursday, 23rd and 24th October, we held our annual spring horse sale at Ohaupo and during the two days offered 126 draught and light colts, and gro odd draught and light horses. A large number of buyers attended from Auckland Te Kuiti, Ot .rohandr, Kawhia, Raglan, and neighbourhood and notwithstanding the rain came down incessantly on the first day of sale. We report one of the best sales yet held at Ohaupo. Competition was keen through for sound animal« of |very class, the prices realised being quite equal to Cambaidge September fairs. With the exception of a few light colts and aged draughts in poor condition, everything sold at the hammer or before leaving the yards. T hree ’ ear old draught colts and filliee re&liaed from £34 to £43, heavy draught mares add geldings, £33 £49; medium draught colts, £24 to £32 ’10a; aged draughts aud medium draughts, £l6 to £3O; strong harness colts, £l3 10s to £2l; light colts.‘£B to £l4 ; upstanding hao-is, £l7 10s to £2B ; good buggy horses, £l6 to £25 Ils; useful harness sort*, £7 10s to £l2 ; light hacks. £9 to £lO 10s ; good ponies, £1 15s to £8; ismals ponies. £2 10 to £5 os. At Ngaruawahia yards on Friday, 25th October we help our monthly sale, whin evarything'soid at current prices, 18-moutbs and two ya»x steers were tn good demand, the latter making £3 10s ; empty cows £3 3s; emnty oeifers,, £2 LOs te £2 12s 6d ; aged cows, £4; strong calves, £1 12s, dairy cows, £4 ,15s to £6 15s. On Tuesday 22nd Oct, we hell our first annual bull sale at Ohaupo, when 136 bills from yearlings to four year-olds were offered. 18-manths to 3-yr-old bulls fit for service, all sold at satisfactory prices. Well-grown 18-monthB to 2-yr-olds realised £5 5s to 9$ guineas ; 3 to 4-yr-old bulls, 4 J guineas to 10 guinea!; yearlings, £2 10s to 4 guineas 4-yr-old and aged bulls in good ooudi ion, 10s to £7 10s 500 head of store cattle were also yarded. Young cattle were iu good deman I and sold at brices now ruling. 3 to 4-yr-steers in good condition, made £6 15s to £3 ; 8 yrold steers. £5 5s to £6 ; yearling steers, £2 6a to £2 16s ; well grown mixed yeaalings. £L 15s ® 3 ’ fr®sh cows and heifers, £3 5s to £4 4s ; sto re cows £2 6s 6d to £2 16s.
