FOOTBALL To-morrow (Saturday) the Kawhia boys journey to Oparau to play the return match with the Oparau boys, CRICKET. There were about a dozen members pre sent at the annual meeting of the Kawhia Harbour Lawn Tennis Club on Wednesday evening, Mr W. A. Mason, J.P., presiding. The following office bearers were elected : Presileut, Mr W. A. Mason, J.P. ; vice-pre-ideot, Mr Q. G. Jonathan, J.P, ; eecre~ tary and treasurer, Mr P. J. M'Carthy ; executive commit:ee, Mr and Mrs F. Newton, Mr an 1 Mrs M'Carthy, Mr Jonathan ; hand c uppers an I match committee, Messrs F. Newton, Jonathan, McCarthy. It was resolved td open the courts on the 9th cf November. subject to the approval of the executive; that Wednesdays and Saturdays be playing da-o ; that the club affiliate with the Auckland Association; that the membership feo be 10s and os; that a ball be hoi 1 ou November Bth, double tickets to be 4s, single 3a, extra lady Is. A vote of thinks was accorded Mr McCarthy for the capable manner m which he had carried out the-secretarial duties, —At a meeting of the executive held afterwards Mr Jonathan was elected president.' Nina new mambers were propos'd. ;
