The Moerangi Block.
The Native Lind Board, which commenced its aboars at Ragfan last week, has for its primary object the deciding of the relative interests of the d fferpni owners in the Moerangi Block of 45,000 acres. Alt bough the eccentricity of man has placedthis fine tract of country entirely in the Kawhia County (says the Chron'olo), na turally and geographically a large portion of it belongs to the Raglan District, which partly accounts for Rag lan being chosen as a place of meeting as well as for the’great interest that is bring taken in th- proceedings. It is understood that the allocation as between the different “bapus” wt-s settled prior to the present sitting, and that a committee hasa Iready been formed for the object of managing and apportioning individual interests without going to the usual ruinous expense of the tedious Laud Court procedure. The natives interested have practically agreed to cat off 10,000 acres to be placed nt 'be Governments disposal; a portion of the balance they art' pie pared t . lease, retaining the remainder with the object of farming on co operative principles the capital for which would bo obtained from the por tiou of the block nnld to the Government.
