A TALE OF A TUB.
(to the editor.) Sir, —I am afraid ray letter must have hit very ha-d, judging from “The Tale of a Tab ” which “ Occasional Correspondent ” told in your last issue. 0.C.” asks '• does he know for certain that the present Kawbia County I members could attend meeungs if their expenses were not paid ?” He does not know ; but as far as ba can judge should say not. There are many of the present members, and sufficient good men outside the Council, who have philanthrop’c ideas enough to do as I suggest, and it would be well for the county if those who cannot do a little for the honour of being elected by
giving their services at regular meetings if they gracefully resigned and tested the feelings of their constituents by standing for re-elec-tion.—Yours, etc., DIOGENES.
