COUNTY COUNCIL FINANCES.
. (TO THE EDITOR.) Sir, —Io l&st issue a letter appears signed “Diogenes,” Now Diogenes is said to hare lived in a tub—an ordinary washing tub, in fact a barrel cut in halves. Is this ••Diogenes” a descendant of the old tabby Diogenes, or is he an aspirant to County Council honours—a budding babbler ofroads to be made through impassable bog holes ? Does he know for certain that the present Kawhia County members could attend meetings if their expense were not paid ? Or does he think bis tub has oome ashore among a wealthy clan of Cor .ty Councillor ? Why does •• Diogenes not steer his tnb along some of our P He wou’d then have something to write about. Also, his tub would no doubt negotiate the Kawhja County roads well. Again he would see the fallacy of not using 811 available funds to matal '.instead of wasting these small amounts slinging mud. It is easy to find fault; all are not so philanthropic as “Diogenes.”—Yours, etc. OCCASIONAL CORRESPONDENT.
