The Aucklanders are to blame. They did not help our proposed railway scheme and have pat prices and freights op. We are shortly to have telephones to our homesteads. Advance Oparau.

FARMERS’ UNION. At a meeting of the Farmers Union held on.Satarday last, three new members were enrolled. Moved by Mr Mackenzie, seconded by Mr A. Wright —“That Mr T. Scott, chairman, find oat valaation of Matakowhai Riding, as it was under represented in the County and should have more members.”—Carried. It was proposed by Upton Clarson, seconded by Mr Sobye and carried : “That tho chairman write to Mr Greenslade and Mr Bard, engineer, to have Ngutunui road finished, as it saves 10 miles to Pirongia.” Moved by Wm. Davis, seconded by G- H. Mackenzie—“ That Messrs Troughton, Davie, Elliott be asked to find cost of private telephones for Okupata and Oparaa roads.”—Carried Proposed by Mr Macke:.zie, second ed by A. Wright—“ That the Goyefn meet and Natiye commission be asked to make decisions by Maori Council final in sales and leases to Europeans.” —-Carried r A yote of thanks to chairman concluded the meeting.
