The Minister for Justice has pro mised Mr Jennings, M.H R., that he will enquire into and consider tbe services rendered by Constabk M‘O»rthy and the Willfeon Brothers, of Kawhia, in going to the assistance of the surviyor.H <>€ tbd a.s. Kia Ora. Mr W. J. Shaw, Chairman of the Kawhia County Council, who is at present on a. visit to Wellington to attend the Counties’ Conference, has arranged with Messrs Qreenslade, Lang and Jennings, M’s.H.R , aud tbe Hon. W. W. M x Cardle, M.L C., to interview the Premier re the Kawhia Harbour Endowments with a view to having same vested in the Harbour Board.
The Counties’ Conference is expected to conclude on Saturday. It is unlikely that tbe Local Government Bill will be proceeded with this session.
