At a meeting of ratepayers last Saturday all those present signed the petition for the Loana. After some discussion some settlers on the Okupata road decided to sign the petition on certain conditions and drafted the following request for presentation to tbe Council :—“We tbe undersigned ratepayers on the Okupata road, sign the attached petition on the following coeditions : That the loan money be spent in forming and metalling tbe worst places, cmmencing at Mackenzie’s wes:ern boundary and extending eastward to the Pirongia West road.” This petition has not been fully signed yet.
