After some discussion some settlers on the Okupata road decided to sign the petition on certain conditions and drafted the following request for presentation to tbe Council :—“We tbe undersigned ratepayers on the Okupata road, sign the attached petition on the following coeditions : That the loan money be spent in forming and metalling tbe worst places, cmmencing at Mackenzie’s wes:ern boundary and extending eastward to the Pirongia West road.” This petition has not been fully signed yet.
