Kawhia School Committee.
The usual moodily meeting of ibe above body was held at tbo Bettlbr Office on Monday evening last, when there were present—Dr U. Campbell Jenkins, Messrs Morgan, Turrell, K Newton and Pettit (secretary) Mr Durham (head teacher) was also in at tendance. A lengthy discussion ensued as to the irregular attendance, which, Mr Durham stated was now better than it had been. He thought it probable that the school would lose the assistant at the end of tbe year.—On the motion of the Chairman and Mr Newton it was decided to ask tbe headmaster to make a list of absentees, and lay the same before tbe next meeting. Small accounts amounting to £8 6i 2d were pasised for payment. Mr Durham asked that shells be put on tbe path leading to the school. The matter was left in the hands of ibe chairman to attend to. It was decided to ask Mr Jonathan co supply and deliver 4 tens of firewood at the school. The meeting then adjourned.
