Pirongia.
(FROM OUR own COR«KBPGND£NT.) On November 28. h the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co. held one of their periodical sales here. Cattle were yarded in large numbers, and rea lised good price.*, owing to tbe spring growth in the feed. Mr Bates, the Mexican eiw boy, gave an exhibition of breaking in horses. Some Maori horses that bad never been handled were run into Mr Steel’s paddock. Mr Bates caught tbe hordes and rode them right away. One of tbe horses bucked rather well but failed to unseat the rider. An exhibition of the latest method of spaying cows was also very interesting. Influenza is rather prevalent round this district, quite a number suffering from the complaint. Thousands of pounds are yearly saved to the poultry keepers of ibis Province by the use of Sharland’s Moa Brand Egg Pbeskrvativb. It makes eggs bring in le 2d to Is 4d per dozen instead of 6d to Bd. One gallon preserves 80 dozen eggs. See that tbe correct name is on tbe label.*
