Lawn Tennis.

The Kawhia Club aro making preparations for a doubles tournament far a trophy presented by Mrs Newton Tbe following entries have been received and the handicaps allotted, the game to be 40 up : —Messrs Falwasser and Pettit 15 behind, M-issra Jourdain and Prentice 5 behind, Mr and Mrs M Uarlhy scratch, Mr Jonathan and Miss Stevens scratch, Mr and Mrs Newton 10 points, Messrs Baird and La Trobe 12 points. The Oparau court is in good order and will be opened shortly. Mr and Mrs Crotty have donated a trophy for competition by members, whilst the t urnam:-nt presented by Mr Pettit (for which play w.is commenced last year) will also be finished.
