Wellington, Sth, 4.10 p.m. Mr Greenalade, M.H.R., has interviewed Ministers respecting various matters of Kawhia interest, including the erection of a court house and the appointment |of additional Justices of the Peace. Several petitions have been presented to the Minister of Public Works by Mr Greenalade urging the necessity of providing substantial grants for roads in the Kawhia district. The member for Waikato has seen the Premier relative to the Kawhia County loans, totalling £9500, and is endeavouring to get a £ fur£ subsidy thereon in each instance. The Ministers have promised to give the several matters their fullest consideration. It is rumoured that the new Native Lind Bill will provide that no individual can lease more than £2OOO or £2-500 unimproved value of native land, the lease being 66 years.
