Pirongia.
(from our own correspondent.) On the 17th inst. a social, in aid of an organ for the Roman Catholic Church was held in tbe Public Hall, and proved a great success. The floor was in good order, and the music was supplied by Messrs Aubin (piano), W. Howe (violin), J?.mag and R. Bolton (accordeon). Between the dances songs were sung by Mrs W. Bell, Messrs Worthington, Howe, Aubin, E. James and Edgecombe, all ot which were received with loud applause by the audience. A recita'ion by Master E. Prince was also o p preci a ted. Mr H. Worthington carried out the duties of M.O. in his usual efficient manner. Dancing was kept up till early morning. Tho weather of la‘o has been very fine and spring like, all tbe trees now b oking green a?id heaitby. Farmers are making the rm at of the favourable conditions, ploughs and a-ed drills being hard at work.
