Farmers' Union.
KINOHAKU BRANCH. A well attended meeting of tho above branch of the Farmers’ Union was held on Saturday evening, 21st inst., at Mr J. Harper’s, Mr W. J. Shaw in the chrir. A great deal of interest is taken in the branch by the 1 settlers. Nearly all of them have become member-, which means that it wi’l have nearly double the members it had last year, when 20 were on the J roll. The following motions were carried : That the secretary write and apply to be appointed an agent for the South Brit’sh Insurance 0 impany for the Awaroa branch of the Farmers’ Union. That tho secretary write to Mr H, J. Greenslade, M H.R., and inform “im that a peiition was forwarded to the Hon. Minister of Justice some, time ago asking him to appoint Mr G. Robertson a.~ a J.P., but it has been ignored, and ask Mr Greenslade to do his best to have the appointment made> That? the secretary wirte io the American Steel Wire Go. and Messrs Johnston and Nephews, asaing for •juotiUions for wire and staples.
