(from OUB own COBBKSP.JNDLMT.) On Monday, 14th inst , the Loan and Mercantile Co. held a furniture <ale on acciunt of Mr E. H. Aubin and Mr J. W. SingLton, when good prices were realised. A m ist placing event wa* held n <h Public Hall n F iday List, when a farewell Focal was tendered to Miss H ye*, who his sed her pos- ion as mistress at the local post office Daring the evening Mi-s Hayes hrs p-esea ed with a purse of sovereign?, as a mirk of tha e ; teem in which she is held by the residents of the Pimngia district. Mr W. H. Grant made the p-e-'entition. Tbe hall was crowded. D iring the evening songs ware rendered by Mr; W. Bell, Messrs Howp, Aubin, Worthington, E. and K. James, Miles B>nd others. Dancing wa - kept up until tbe early hours. On Saturday night a smoke concert was tendered to Mr E. H. Aubin, who is leaving tbe district for the Thames. Toasts were honoured, interspersed with musical items, proceedings being kept up until ab rat 11 p.m. We al join in wishing Mr Aubin success in his new sphere. The weather daring the last week has been very mil l f »r the tuna of the year, and the roads have dried wonderfully well. All tha Bed creamorias are only working four days p«r week, and very shortly tha supply will caase for the winter.
