The Kaimonga Road.
At the iMt meeting of the Kawhia County Council, Messrs Pearson and Hinton waited upon the members present relative to the above road. Mr Pearson, who acted as spokesman, urged the Council to write to the Government and ask them to push the road through from the Haatara to the Awarpa road. They bad held the land for five years but had no road, only a track which he had made himself. He and Mr Hinton wished to go ia for dairying, he himself having arrrnged to milk 50 cows. They would have to pack their cream oat, but oould not even do that at present. The road did not only benefit them but tbe whole of the Aworoa settlers, as it would be the main stock road into the Awaroa. Six miles was the distance from road to road. Cr Babbage stated that the Awaroa roads were the most backward and neglected in the county. The road would be the main stock outlet. A sum of £250 was on the estimates last y6ar, winch Mr Bard said was spent, but he had not seen anything for it, Ttieo years ago £250 was voted and thia year £3OO, bat all they had was 70 chains of 6ft. track and 20 chains of 3ft. track. There £2ou j paid in rent whilstland was loaded from 2s 6d to 3< p<r acre. He had pleasure in moving as requested.
